UAE expert to speak on women empowerment in Masvingo

A United Arab Emirates (UAE) educational expert will be in Masvingo on the 8th of July to address a much sought after Women Empowerment luncheon. Dr Gallie Kawanzaruwa will be the keynote speaker at the event with the theme: Women of Substance of United Arab Emirates, What we can learn from their struggles. The Empowerment luncheon will create a powerful network of women to share ideas on how to set the tone in various areas of influence. It will enable women from the business and academic field to explore new opportunities as well as exchanging ideas on how they can utilise various untapped opportunities in the UAE. Another renowned academic Dr Watson Munyanyi who is the Banking and Finance Lecturer at the Great Zimbabwe University and also business strategist will join a panel of discussion. About Dr Kawanzaruwa Dr Kawanzaruwa is an academically oriented, strategic and operational professional with experience in the whole education spectrum across the Middle East, UK and Africa. She is based in United Arab Emirates where she is the Senior Manager of Academic Services and Advising and Acting Dean of Academic Operations at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates. Before taking up this important role, she was the Director/Principal of Ras Al Khaimah American Academy for Girls (K-Grade 12) in the UAE from August 2014 to August 2016. Earlier, she worked for the Ministry of Education where she spearheaded the UAE Government initiatives that focused on establishing an English quality curriculum, student centric teaching methodologies and strategic assessments. Her projects in Zimbabwe Dr Kawanzaruwa, who will also deliver a public lecture at the Womens University of Africa in Harare on the 14th of July 2022, owns Hatfield Elite Academy. This is a state of the art school in Harare, from ECD to A Level, that was established in 2020 and is gaining accolades in the surrounding community. She also has a Foundation in memory of her late husband which is sending orphaned children to school. The Foundation now has over 27 students attending the following schools; St Mannocks, Domboramwari Secondary School in Epworth, Chahwanda Primary and Secondary schools in Mashonaland Central, Kamutsenzere Primary School (Mash Central), Katarira Primary and Secondary Schools (Mash Central).
