Zimbabwe stands as a premier agricultural powerhouse in Southern Africa, blessed with ideal climatic conditions and an industrious farming population. However, the nation faces a severe commercial inefficiency: massive post-harvest horticultural waste. Seasonal gluts destroy tons of fresh produce—most notably tomatoes, a ubiquitous household staple before they reach markets, resulting in hundreds of millions in lost economic value annually.
To solve this, we are launching an integrated, commercially driven agro-processing initiative that aggregates 1,000 women-led micro-enterprises across the Midlands, Harare, and Manicaland regions into a high-efficiency supply chain. By introducing modular processing infrastructure and strict quality standards, we are transforming surplus raw produce into premium, shelf-stable consumer goods—including tomato ketchup, chili sauces, pasta sauces, soups, and powder—positioned for national supermarket distribution and mass export.

The Aggregated Producer Network: We organize and equip 1,000 primary producers into formalized cluster cooperatives, establishing a reliable, direct-to-factory raw material pipeline that bypasses middlemen and guarantees low input costs.
Decentralized Processing & Quality Control: Deploying community-based processing hubs equipped with commercial machinery to convert perishable surplus into high-margin, long-shelf-life retail products under unified quality and branding standards.
Mass Market & Export Domination: Securing domestic retail placement in major supermarket chains, followed by a high-profile commercial launch at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) next year to lock in regional export contracts.
Growth & Execution Roadmap
Phase 1: Infrastructure & Standardization (Months 1-3): Deployment of core processing machinery, establishment of standardized product packaging (barcoding, labeling), and compliance with national and regional food safety standards.
Phase 2: Domestic Retail Rollout (Months 4-6): Launching branded product lines (tomato ketchup, chili, spaghetti sauce, soup, and powder) into leading domestic supermarket chains, generating immediate recurring revenue.
Phase 3: ZITF Showcase & Export Scaling (Months 7-12): Utilizing the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair as the primary B2B gateway to secure regional offtake agreements, enabling bulk export en masse.
