Shekinah Media Founder and WEDO Country Ambassador Angeline Zimbwani-Mikiri said it was an honor to have the renowned historian and heritage expert inspire women through his presentation on "The vital role of empowering women through education, heritage, innovation, and entrepreneurship to unlock Africa's potential." His presentation, which included anecdotes from African culture and examples of women from African history, showed that it is normal for women to lead in all spheres of life.
Mr. Noel Zulu, a Specialist Laparoscopic Surgeon and Superintendent of Masvingo General Hospital, also made an informative and eye-opening presentation to highlight ways to overcome cancer. He made a passionate plea for early treatment instead of coming late.
Maria Laws, the Vice President of Learning and Development at Ahura AI and Program Administrator for the Alliance for Africa's Intelligence (A4AI), made a virtual presentation from Stanford University. She focused on "The importance of empowering women to embrace AI for a balanced and inclusive technological revolution." She encouraged women to be brave, not perfect, when embracing AI, and to bring their own "foldable chair" to the table if none is provided.
To wrap up the celebrations, there was an exciting panel discussion comprising a legal practitioner, a PR expert, businesswomen, and philanthropists. African cuisine was served for lunch, with almost everything traditional available, from tsvimbo and nyii (small grain meals) to popular dishes like seven days brew.
Entertainment was provided by Rose, a rising mbira player and singer, and Wekwa Maramba. The two did not disappoint. GZU's Prof. Prof Tsitsi Nyoni was the Event Director and session chair for the summit.
